then i hopped the ferry to fire island
where we did, indeed, ride bikes- this is subsy (you could tell by those gorgeous legs, i know...) loaded up on our way to the beach. don't you love the dreamy filter? it's simple: slather your chest in spf then shove your iphone in your bikini top.... voila! hazy screened iphone pix.
this year's share house has an itty bitty bathroom with the LARGEST inlayed cat artwork i've ever seen..... which was freaking terrifying.
those cat eyes are still giving me nightmares thinking about it.
subsy is a san antonio gal and her queso and quac are beyond compare!
so we always find time on the clock for queso-thirty and guac-o'clock.
i found a new favorite flavor at "unfriendly's ice cream store"-- "trash can" --amazing.
even tina fey has a place in fair harbor.
here i am, snapping from the inside of the liquor store like a total creeper. her little girls are adorable and she's a really cool and normal hands-on mom. no nanny (MAJOR rarity here).
i've now hit that age when i have to wear hats to protect the money-maker.... which made tanning less headache-y but ... woof... i hate thinking about it.
kismet the town and kismet the friend.
remember that subsy and i met on the subway?
kismet!
first pina of the season!
too much fun in a photo booth.... we sure stirred some trouble...
and you would not believe how i had to flirt for that glow bracelet. at one point, we were sure we were at the worst bat mitzvah ever... the local crowd was intense to say the least....
and we, naturally, dominated the dance floor..... we had such a blast.
i've always wanted to cruise on a boat round fire island and finally, i worked some magic and roped us into a very bizarre boat situation... not with men we'd ever consider, but it was a boat!
we found ourselves at a floating bar where i enjoyed an ice cream sammie over a corona
subsy and capt john... check out his hot belly button! obviously he knows crop tops are back on trend!
i kiped this from subsy's instagram.... i got to drive that sucker with capt. john screaming in my ear, { with a considerable long island accent } "doesn't it drive like a sports car?!"
"do you see why i'm the KING?!" it was amazing.... but i was thrilled to drive the atlantic which was far less populated than lake powell.
my friend derek said learning to drive in powell is like learning to drive in new delhi. word.
subs says this picture is the essence of me.....
the beach days couldn't have been more perfect and i made a pretty cool double layered friendship bracelet for subsy..
sadness to leave but happy happy happy to have had another wild kismet adventure with my girls!
and lets remember our real fallen heroes who make great weekends like this possible for us.
remembering my grandfather, richard arthur smith.
a cowboy, an air force pilot, and an all around stud.
