deep city lights.

this girl got lost in them last night.

i spent 24 hrs in nyc to see V.
missed him. missed my city. missed the people.
ny'ers are just so real, you know?
the more i live in a city of plywood, plaster, and paste,
the more i miss they history, drive, and grime of my city.

V requested that he plan the day- i love a great surprise...
and lets just say, he won
"boyfriend of the year 2011" for this one.

we
lunched at abc kitchen (one of our favorites- and huge celeb hangout)
shopped
had massages and a full korean spa day experience
then...

he surprised me with dinner at 5 points with so many of my best girlfriends.
we had such a wonderful time and he treated us all to an amazing meal.

i was so touched that he planned a day surrounded by all of my favorite activities and people.

i really needed it.
i needed my people and i needed my city.

V was so thoughtful. i honestly felt like it was my birthday.

then i whisked myself back and into a 2 show evening....

but i came back strangely refreshed, loved, and real again.

thank you, V.

now his birthday is soon approaching...... how can i compete with this? in vegas!
ideas?

Looks like you found yourself a keeper! In my opinion the only way to top such a special day would be to flash mob him. Something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su1YLAjty-U
...except you don't have to propose of course!

Wow. I have no idea. Except for maybe a fun show, there's lots of those in Vegas...

oooh, if people don't know what a real Korean spa experience is like then they are missing something unique. i took my Korean born daughter to an authentic place in K-town in LA last Spring. Let's just say the ajummas scrubbed us both in places even I've never touched on my own body. my shy 13 y/o and i each had our own personal experience - private...you know...it's not private in the American sense of the word, but no one cares and no one's watching. you lose yourself to the pounding and scrubbing and my god, my skin really and truly WAS invigorated for a good week afterwards.

my cousin's going to Vegas on a work trip and told me today she's got tix to Jersey Boys! great gig for you there but I know what I think you mean...am not such a fan of Vegas personally.

Now. Why don't you just go ahead and propose to V for his birthday and get it over with?! there. i've said it. :-)

Plywood, plaster, and paste? Ouch. outstanding birthday celebration ideas: helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, definately the Strip. Dinner at the Belagio overlooking the fountains. Cruise through and hike in Redrock. And we're only 5 hours away from our shared vacation spot, Lake Powell. Can you get to Lake Powell in under 5 hours from NYC, I think not...

My idea: The New York hotel in Vegas... cheesy reminder of the best place on earth.

Great food, a show, art gallery at either Bellagio or Venetian...there's lots to do in my city (that's made up of way more than plywood & paste). :)

Take a little nature adventure out to Red Rocks and go on a hike. Take Stella and a picnic. When I lived there, it was my favorite place to go because there is nothing Vegas about it.
