book of mormon { challenge }

this sunday, my friend, claire, gave a beautiful talk about the book of mormon.
she had never read it as a comprehensive work in a short period of time and she spoke so beautifully about what she learned and how it changed her life in the 20 days she took to read it.

it was so inspiring, that i decided right there to accept her un-asked challenge and do it myself (it's been a while since i've read it quickly).

so i'm starting on JULY 1st and i'm going to read
8 chapters/day.....
for 31 days...

i'm really excited to see how my life will change and what i'll learn.

do you want to do it as well?
i think there is strength in numbers and to be honest, i'm only letting you in on this so i'm held accountable.

let's do this!

no, you don't have to be LDS to accept the challenge...
i'm reading it on my phone- you can use the free app or the one i use (which i can't find easily online) which has lots of extras and easy highlighting, etc....
because i don't want to lug my scriptures around.

or you can download the book of mormon { here }

I think you are a great example for others( memebers and non-members alike). Thanks for the challenge. I hope it inspires people who are not familiar with the church to take a look at the real Book of Mormon, not that play we heard so much about at the tony awards.

Your timing is perfect. My husband and I [along with 3 of our 4 children] will be leaving on a trek as a Ma & Pa at the beginning of August. This is exactly the challenge I needed to really prepare.

I'm in!!
Thank you!

nat, i did this last year and it was seriously incredible! i hope your experience is as great as mine - it opened up so many doors and allowed me to talk about it with complete strangers. i might just have to join in once more... :)

ditto. my 2 year old baby girl just broke her femur, so we won't be heading out much in the next 6 weeks...lots of down time at home. perfect timing and strangely it seems like this is what everyone needs, including me.

I'm so curious how your BOM challenge is going. I started on July 1st with you, and although it's been a challenge, I have to say it's also been one of the greatest blessings ever. I am on a spiritual high. I can't wait to read my chapters each day and all of a sudden the Book of Mormon is coming alive for me.

I really think reading it in large chunks [i've missed a day here and there which means some days I've had to read 24 chapters to catch up :] has helped me to understand the story as a big picture, rather than reading it in snippets and then feeling confused as to who is talking and where they are at.

Anyways, I am grateful that you invited your readers to join along because this is EXACTLY what I needed right now.

Thanks so much!
