love love

nars cream eyeshadow in el dorado
i'll be throwing it on nic's eyelids pre wedding march.
i dig it from lash line to crease... looks shimmery on every color of lid.

thanks to birthday princess worthina for the tip!

you know you're old when....

there aren't enough candles in the box
(there were only 24)
. worth williams.

today (well, yesterday now..) was my bff worthina's bday.
worthini and i have celebrated 4 of her bdays together and while they all have been lavish and funny (sadly, i was dud bff due to the surgery), my top 2 have to be our surprise bday breakfast with cook and dude in sacramento and our impromtu philly road trip.
we always have a grand time!
in philly with dd
i felt so cool with my virgin mocktini -love when men factor in the mormon in the round of free drinks!

worthini is

brave
fun
bright
optimistic
interesting
interested
hilarious
traditional
talented
creative
structured
thoughtful
loving

and my friend.

*this year she had a party "mormon-style" (her words, not mine) aptly titled considering we had a pizza party and ice cream sundae bar.... fitting, she DOES wear her cTr ring daily.
we call her an "honorary mormon."

happy birthday worthiness!

justified monster

have you heard about pms buddy?

it's a free online menstrual tracker that sends alerts to your significant other warning him / her of your significant mood swings.

guess it cuts out the mid-fight "are you pms'ing?!" question.
he'll already know.

i had a thoughtful fb who used to track it on his own in his planner.....
felt bizarre at first, but helped him to be more empathetic during those weeks....

you can also add it on facebook.
hilarious.

mummy,

everything's better when you are near

nothing like having mommy here to
shop
support me at grease
clean my apt
feed me
MAKE motzah ball soup (in a city where you can have it delivered faster)
do my laundry
wake at dawn to take me to the hospital
hold my thow-up dish
entertain my friends
make me laugh
and

hold my hand.

thank you. thank you. thank you.

surgery, sisters, sinai, and seattle grace.

THRILLED they didn't make me take off my fresh mani for anesthesia.
thrilled that i can wear dark polish for the next 6 wks!!!

had a little surgery today. thyroid drama. annoying but necessary.
went well, sans the barfy cab ride home...

at 6 am, while in admissions, gisette (my incredibly shining and cheerful admissions gal) asked me to state my religion.

me: Mar-Man.
mom: shouldn't you say LDS?
gisette: latter day saint.
me: yeah! i can't believe you knew that!

later, she walked us back and introduced us to another smiling gal-

smiling gal: hi!! i'm sister so-and-so!
me (in my head): WHY did they give me a nun?! is this part of the protocol?
smiling gal: gisette was just baptized a month ago!
me (still not following..... it was early, folks): um....what?
mom: oooooooh! you're not a nun (thankfully she was thinking the same thing) you're LDS!!
smiling gal: no!! we're sister's in zion!!
me: and at mount sinai (hospital)!

***

it should also be noted that the drs/residents at mt sinai are serious hotties.
hurt something and visit sinai.
even in my drugged recovery stupor, i could appreciate the seattle-graceness of those fellas.

***

had to save sara's season premier till POST surgery...
i probably would have had a panic attack if i hadn't...

wasn't she great?!
the lovely thing about being tucked away in bed on a rainy surgery day is that i get to keep up on all my tivo homework!!

a tale of an opening.

b opened in tale of two cities on the broadway.
she looked like a movie star.
i re-wore my grease opening night dvf dress
(hell, i paid enough! might as well get two wears out of it!) and after watching those fabulous 60's women in mad men, i was inspired to wear red lipstick. ..bad idea.... probably should have factored in the tan i'm sporting....
i ended up looking cheap.

but we had a blast, nonetheless!

with my boys frank and nilo

b and frankster

connie was hot for her hot mom.
even said he wants to "slay" her. nice.

dr janet (our favorite chiropractor) with her two natalies (senior and junior, respectively)

posing with a SOLID chocolate "break a leg" gift.
it was heavy.
it had a size 7 foot.

besties on the red carpet.

in the car with frank
b giving it.

with celeste holm (ORIGINAL ado annie, promised land, etc...) and her husband frank (NICOLE, remember him? gift of christmas? small world)

nick (frank's assistant) and i are doing japanese photo posing. ij.

marty. marty. cha cha.

.my performance schedule.

today, tuesday, september 23- marty
wednesday matinee, september 24- marty
thursday, september 25- cha cha

.off for 6 wks-next performance tba.

come play!

why wasn't i this cool in college?

it took miss s's fabulous birthday fiesta @ gonzalez y gonzalez to coax me back to my west village former college haunts.
post 2 saturday shows, i salsa danced with my besties and total strangers (there's nothing sexier than a man who can lead you round the floor) till the wee hours of the am.
the band was ridiculous and we were all in rare form.

i'm toting the very exciting virgin pina colada.

the mischievous bday girl and very sweaty me

happy birthday to a wonderful spectacular woman!

dancing with the stars?

nothing better than ending the night @ the kati roll company ( deLISH!)
and random stand-up @ 3 am on bleeker street.

we had the best time.
why didn't i do this every weekend in college?

dear friends,

beginning friday, september 26th,
i will be taking a 6 week medical leave from grease.

my thyroid has been all over the place and it needs to settle down so i can get back to feeling myself... and after being in grease for over a year, my other injuries could use the time off.

thankfully, i will be in utah for the majority of it so my family can take care of me.

looking forward to:

cougar football
sunday dinner
cafe rio
rook
seeing dear friends and family
fall leaves
deer valley
making something cool
driving
mom's cooking
target
and most importantly:
nicole's wedding

sad to miss:

nyc in the fall (my FAVORITE time of year)
np's
my lovely ny family
b6 sorority (my sanity at grease!)
my income for the next 6 wks. ouch.

and stellita will sorely miss her bff ringy.

don't worry, i have plenty of nyc tales to keep you entertained while i'm not physically in the city....

but, look out NYC!
i'll be back to being ME!!

photo, nikkie. natch.

don't worry, it's still cute though!

once upon a time, i had an fb who has a sweetheartedly precocious 5 yr old niece.
one day (post church), she sat on my lap while we sat on the floor chatting.
as she was sitting on aforementioned lap (and i was wearing a one piece dress) the front of my dress naturally slid down to reveal a small touch of cleavage.

she: psssst! I can see your line.
me (bewildered): what?
she (pointing to my chest): your LIIIINE! don't worry, it's still cute though!!

***

later, both embarrassed and entertained, i told her mother about the line story.
her older brother chimes in,

he: oh, DON'T worry, natalie, i ALWAYS see grandma's line at the pool and it's HUGE!!!

hair today

gone tomorrow?

still thinking about it.

thank you many many lurkers for coming out of the woodwork
(people DO read this! who knew) to give me advice on my fro...

something to consider.....

thank you. your comments are noted. keep talking to me.

i'd like to

wear these on a flight to visit

this.

cut or keep it real?

i'm over my fro in the biggest way.

should i cut it katie short?

pros:
it's breezy
it'll take 2 seconds to do it

cons
my HUGE features are ginormous and my nose may look bigger
i'll actually have to DO my hair
my mom may cry.

what say you?

look mom!!

we're in ny daily news today!!!
photo again by the wonderful bruce glikas.
i think i look like a muppet.

dear natalie,

remember, pre-menstrual jean shopping is never a good idea.
you WILL and DID feel bad about yourself.
your body is beautiful and sacred and deserves to be shoved into jeans when in a
less-bloated state.
it's not so bad.
try again later.

.xoxo.
your bootylicious body

i'm mad for

mad men

smart writing.
brilliant acting.
snappy drama.

and i may want to be joan holloway.

seriously, i can't sleep and am getting quasi bugged with my dating life interfering with my watching hours.

it's that good.
